Selection Criteria and
Preparation of Merit List
Selection of suitable candidates for the GDS post will be based on the merit in the qualifying exam/class i.e. class/ SSC/ High School as per the recruitment policy of the Department of Post, Govt. of India. Selection will be made as per the automatically generated merit list as per the rule and policies based on the online submitted applications.
Selection will be purely based on the marks obtained in class 10th hence, no weightage will be given for higher educational qualifications.
In case of two candidates secure the same marks, then the merit order will be taken as- – Candidate’s Date of Birth (higher age as merit), ST female, SC female, OBC female, UR female, Schedule Tribe (ST) Male, Schedule Caste (SC) Male, Other Backward Class (OBC) male, Unreserved (UR) male candidate.
If a candidate is selected as meritorious for more than one post then the post in order of preference will be offered to him and the candidature for other posts will be cancelled.
What after the Declaration of TN GDS Postal Circle Result 2023?
Selected candidates will be sent an SMS in their registered mobile numbers after provisional selection. However, mere SMS or any other communication on selection does not imply that candidate can claim for regular selection or appointment for a GDS post. Candidates will also receive a physical intimation regarding provisional selection from the respective recruiting authority in due course.
The
final selection/ appointment for the post of GDS will be based on the
completion of verification and genuineness of all the documents and certificates
of the provisionally selected candidates.
Therefore, all the candidates who will appear for document verification have to produce the required documents in original to the officials. Intimation regarding the schedule and centre for document verification to the shortlisted candidates will be made through email/SMS/ official portal.
