Punjab Postal Circle GDS Merit List 2023
Punjab GDS Results will be published in the form of a merit list pdf. Selection of suitable candidates will be done based on an automatically generated merit list as per the rules and policies based on the online submitted applications. In case, candidates have submitted incomplete data then their applications shall be rejected and will not be considered for merit.
The initial selection of candidates will be as made based on the merit of candidates in the qualifying exam i.e. class 10th/ SSC. Selection will be purely based on merit. No selection exam has been conducted. After the release of the result online, provisionally selected candidates will also be intimated through SMS and a physical intimation will also be sent in due course.
In case of a tie between the marks of candidates, the merit order will be determined as Date of Birth (higher age as merit), ST (female), SC (female), OBC (female), EWS (female), UR (female), ST (Male), SC (Male), OBC (male), EWS (male), UR (male).
While preparing the merit list weightage is given to the candidates who have mentioned their higher education. The Punjab GDS Merit list will be provisional and does not indicate that candidates having their names on the list are finally selected. The final selection and appointment will be based on document verification done by the district recruiting authorities.

Punjab GDS Recruitment Document Verification
As per the selection criteria for the post of GDS, provisionally selected candidates will be called for the next round i.e. Document Verification (DV). All the shortlisted candidates will be notified through physical intimation and SMS will also be sent to them on their provisional selection.
For final selection, they have to attend the document verification round. Their final selection will be made only after the genuineness and verification of all the required documents and certificates. Candidates are required to verify the original copy of documents/ certificates they have uploaded at the time of application. These include-
- SSC marks memo and certificate
- Date of Birth Certificate if DOB is not mentioned in the SSC certificate
- Computer certificate
- Community/ caste certificate
- Passport-sized photographs
- Certificate of Disability
- Other relevant documents
Candidates failing to carry any of the aforementioned documents/certificates at the verification venue shall be disqualified.
The schedule and venue for the DV round will be communicated to provisionally selected candidates in the due course of time after the publication of the merit list.
